Bow Wow
Bow Wow | Doing His Part for The Up-Coming Election!

Bow Wow speaks to Aries from UrbanBridgez about his foundation Walk Across America and his New Album New Jack City Pt. II

UrbanBridgez.com: Tell me about Walk Across America.
Bow Wow: Well basically, it's a foundation I put together to encourage the youth to vote. We're about to go tour and go to different cities by bus and some walking. To put the word out about the up-coming elections. I mean right now we're like in a recession, people I know are loosing their homes and it's just really bad right now. We want to make awareness to the youth that they can make a chance and encourage them to vote this November. I feel like if they see me and my passion I have for this, it will encourage a lot of them to do so.

UrbanBridgez.com: What made you want to be apart of this?
Bow Wow: Honestly I felt I had to be apart of this. Seeing what's going on in the world with everything and how in need we all are in of some type of positive change. Made me want to start something like this. I mean from the house foreclosures to the gas prices. I felt like I could do my part to help make this change. I mean so many people know me as Bow Wow the artist, I feel like maybe I can convince some into voting by using that celebrity status. I mean it's my first time voting as a young man and I realize how important it is, I just want to help others who may not, see it also.

UrbanBridgez.com: Tell me about your foundation Follow The Leader.
Bow Wow: It's the spin-off of Walk Across America. It's my foundation with me as the leader of the youth. I feel like with my fanbase, since I've came out I've sold Millions, so those fans should be of voting age now. They see me on TV, come to my shows and just follow my music. So I hope I can again get them to follow me to the voting booths come November. It's really about using my celebrity status for some positive change. I think that's important.

UrbanBridgez.com: Tell your fans how important it is for them to get out and vote!
Bow Wow: Very Important! There is just so many reasons why they should get out and vote. It's crazy how important it is with everything that's going on now. People are literally loosing everything they have, gas prices are high and that effects everyone. Soon we're all going to be loosing everything if we don't get out and make a change. It's like if you just sit there and do nothing, your part of the problem. So get out and vote, help make the change instead of being apart of the problem by not voting.

UrbanBridgez.com: Much props on getting involved in this, we need more young people to do the same, now let's switch gears for a quick second.. Tell me about the new album New Jack City Pt. 2.
Bow Wow: Thanks, appreciated. And thank you for letting me speak on it on your site. As for the new CD, man it's crazy! I got everybody on it from JD, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, T.I., DJ Khaled, Nelly, Yung Berg.... So many people. This is my 7th CD and now I'm 21 years old. I've had nothing but success so far, I'm just enjoying it all and having fun with it this time around!

UrbanBridgez.com: Tell me about the film Hurricane Season.
Bow Wow: I'm really excited about it, it comes out in December. It's about a basketball team who's put together after Hurricane Katrina. It's a true story. Forrest Whitaker, Lil Wayne, Isaiah Washington and Taraji Henson are all in it. I'm looking forward to when it's in theaters.

UrbanBridgez.com: Any last words for your fans?
Bow Wow: GO VOTE NOVEMBER 4TH!!!

Rory
UBG's Rory | Ready To Shine!
R&B singer Rory is about to do some very big things. The 20-year old Boston native who now calls New York his home has split the past several years between attaining his degree at NYU and cooking up some fine R&B music. Now, he says, he is finally ready to bring the heat. Don't be surprised to see him scooped up by one of the major labels very soon- he's one of UBG's Artists to Watch in 2009. UBG's own LaRonda caught up with Rory to play a little game of 20 Questions to get to know him better.

Ronda: Who are your influence(s)?
Rory: Any artist who really SINGS. I do soul music, and the reason it's called soul music is because it's meant to consist of emotion you can FEEL coming straight from the soul. So I'm mostly influenced by all the amazing vocalists who you can really feel when you listen. People like Mary J. Blige and Marvin Gaye and Usher and Mariah. The SANGERS (laughs).

Ronda: What are your goals?
Rory: I want to put out album after album of music that really hits people in their soul and conveys whatever it is that they're going through. I want people to be able to be able to relate to my music and turn to it during when they need it. And I don't ever want to stop.

Ronda: How would you describe your style?
Rory: People have always called me the white boy that sounds black. And that's cool. (laughs). What I do is R&B music with a mainstream sensibility to it. One of my biggest dreams has always been to have my songs on the radio. So thats part of it. But it's soul music regardless.

Ronda: What's your favorite icecream?
Rory: Chocolate. Thats how I like my women too. HA!

Ronda: If you were on a deserted island, what 3 albums would you bring?
Rory: Stevie Wonder "Musiquarium," Michael Jackson "Thriller," Mariah Carey "Butterfly". 3 Masterpieces.

Ronda: Favorite month?
Rory: May

Ronda: What did you want to be when you grew up?
Rory: I always wanted to do music.

Ronda: What's something you can't live without?
Rory: An hour at the gym everyday and Trident gum, original flavor.

Ronda: What's your favorite movie?
Rory: Die Hard is the best movie known to man. I stand by that.

Rory Ronda: What was the first album you bought?
Rory: Bobby Brown's "Don't Be Cruel". CLASSIC.

Ronda: What's one place you would love to visit?
Rory: I love the caribbean with a passion.

Ronda: What R&B chick would you make the hottest couple with?
Rory: Everyone who knows me knows I'm madly in love with Mariah really to an unhealthy point. And it's been going on for longer than I'd like to admit. Quite frankly, any girl I date knows and just accepts that I will drop her like a sack of potatoes given the opportunity to have Ms. Carey. That's just how it is. (Laughs). Toni Braxton is hot too! What can I say, I like 'em a couple years older...

Ronda: What's your favorite genre of music?
Rory: R&B BABY! Of course.

Ronda: Favorite animal?
Rory: GIRAFFES! They're SO FUNNY! Especially when they chew things! (Laughs)

Ronda: What's in your CD player right now?
Rory: I'm really feeling Ne-Yo's new record. But this current moment I'm listening to Boyz II Men's "Legacy" album.

Ronda: Favorite R&B Slow Jam?
Rory: Usher "Nice N Slow" Throwwwwwwwback.

Ronda: Who is a dream artist you would love to work with?
Rory: I'd love to do one of those "lover's quarrel" duets with Mary J. That would be crazy. For her to unleash angry, heartbroken Mary on me in song would be a dream come true. Ahh I can hear it now...

Ronda: Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
Rory: Signed... (to a major label), Sealed (in that shiny CD packaging), and delivered (to your home for your musical enjoyment). Is that lame? (Laughs)

Ronda: What's next for Rory?
Rory: Right now I'm working on writing and recording as much as possible. I have so many ideas and concepts, it's just about getting them down and into song format. There's nothing like being in the studio recording. I'm also filming the video for my first ever single "Missin Us" in a couple of weeks. And besides that, keeping my options open label-wise. We'll see what happens!
