Top 10 To Watch for 09'

<<< Noelle >>>
You may have heard of her without actually knowing it was her. Noelle composed the theme song to Eve's hit show "Eve" and she had a small part in the comedy "Employee of the Month" starring Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson. She's wrote lyrics for artists featured on Dr. Dre's Aftermath label and collaborated with rapper Mike Jones. This talented singer-songwriter hailing from Los Angeles is ready to unleash what she has to offer with her debut "It's Personal", an album consisting of material from her personal experiences. L.A. first got wind of her debut single earlier last summer with the sexy and chic, "Grown Woman". Look out for Noelle because she's destined to make an impact with her debut.

<<< Laura Izibor >>>
We first heard this Dublin, Ireland honey on Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married soundtrack with the soulful MMM. Laura eventually began making her rounds in the soul circuit opening up for acts such as the Roots and Angie Stone. She's currently working on her debut album in hopes of widening her Soul of Ireland across the Atlantic.

<<< Brutha >>>
UBG has featured this group for a number of well-conducted interviews but I first got to see who these men were with their hit BET show, From Brothers to Brutha. It's refreshing to see a group of men who actually sing without all the vocal enhancing some producers seem to go to. These men seem to be in it for the long haul and if their self-titled debut is any indication, they'll be here for a long time.

<<< Syleena Johnson >>>
As one of her songs state, "Where is the Love?" The Chi-town native has been consistent in keeping her material as real as it can be. Yet, she still gets no love from black radio due to politics and popularity contests. This woman here has released albums that speak to the troubled heart. Chapter 4: Labor Pains is the latest in her series and she gets even deeper. One song people should pay close attention to is "Is It Because I'm Black" where she boldly takes on those who hold her back because of skin color.

<<< CJ >>>
I first caught wind of CJ while playing Grand Theft Auto IV of all things. His song "I Want You" was featured on their VIBE radio compilation from the video game series and I've been a fan since. For this young Baltimore native to be 18 years old, he's showing some of those who are much older than him how it should be done. This young Marvin in training is not only a talented singer, but a gifted songwriter as well. CJ is currently signed to Capitol Records and look for his debut to drop sometime in 2009.
